Exhibition Identity for Audio Installation

SUPINE HORIZONS

Exhibition Identity for Audio Installation

IN A MUTLI-DISCIPLINARY COLLABORATION, this project visualized rest as a radical and anti-capitalist act in an interactive exhibition experience in collaboration with the curator Nicole Pollard and sound/projection artist Gralin Hughes, Jr., for Philadelphia Contemporary’s installation, Supine Horizons. I created the logo and identity, and executed print and digital exhibition materials that evoke the feeling of the audio and the space without actually revealing it. The identity captures the mandatory slowness of nature with modern glitches to depict electronic sound, using hypnotic motion and quotes from author Octavia Raheem’s Pause, Rest, Be as inviting mantras. To support the show, I expanded the identity into a zine workbook, typographic decals within the installation, videos, wall text, signage and wayfinding, merchandise, easels, web page, social assets, and merch.
